Expert teams behind new designer apartment developments in Sandton and Saxonwold

In a growing market for contemporary urban apartments, property solutions company Profica is involved in two new high value residential developments set to transform the Sandton and Saxonwold skylines, HQ Sandton and Saxon Square. After project managing a number of successful residential and apartment projects such as Illovo Central, Black Brick Sandton and Capital on the Park, Profica continues to expand its portfolio and is now also playing a role as a developer behind key projects.

“We’re seeing excellent growth for well-located developments designed to deliver solutions for urban, on-the-go living,” says Profica CEO Tim White. “Developments like Saxon Square and HQ Sandton feature modern, eco-friendly amenities to cater for a vibrant city lifestyle. These designer studios, 1- and 2-bed apartments in upmarket, central areas are also offered at a range of accessible price points, making them an excellent option for first-time buyers, young professionals, and investors.”

Profica is both project manager and development manager for Saxon Square. The stand-out 134-unit building on Oxford Road is about to go into construction as pre-sales targets are reached. Saxon Square’s impressive list of amenities include 24-hour concierge, biometric access control, coffee shop, rooftop garden and co-working lounge, with eco-friendly and cost-saving elements built into the design.

Prices range from R899 000 for a studio apartment, to R3 499 999 for the ultra-luxurious penthouse apartment, with no transfer duty, transfer or bond costs. White says a seamless rental management solution has been introduced for Saxon Square, in partnership with FLYT Property Investment, making owning this as an invest-to-let property even more hassle-free.

Profica is also part of the team behind HQ Sandton, creating a unique vertical living park in the heart of Africa’s richest square mile. Weinprop and Forsee Properties have collaborated with Profica as project managers, Messaris Wapenaar Cole Architects and Rainmaker Marketing.

Just adjacent to Mushroom Farm Park, the development offers 11 floors of studios, 1 and 2-bedroom apartments, with prices starting from R890 000. 93% of the units are under R2 million, and the 200 apartments available in the first sales phase are selling fast.

Lifestyle amenities on offer include South Africa’s largest rooftop garden, iconic restaurants, bars, and infinity pools, a 100m2 gym, recreational areas, co-working spaces, work pods, and boardrooms. Meals from the restaurant and deli can conveniently be ordered to apartments, while the 24-hour concierge can schedule laundry and cleaning services. Major transport links, the Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transport Station and Gautrain Station are a stone’s throw away.

White says the Profica teams are excited to be involved in both of these high-profile developments. “In line with global trends, this kind of multi-faceted apartment living in urban centres offering privacy, security, high-end finishes and fantastic amenities is rapidly increasing in popularity,” says White.  “We believe the demand for these central, lock-up-and-go projects designed for young professionals will continue grow, especially in a low interest rate environment.”
