Profica’s extensive retail Design & Build capabilities rewarded by Absa contract renewal
In 2016, Profica was one of 4 companies appointed by Absa to provide Design & Build services for the roll out of their major client-facing network programme. This included the delivery of over 200 branches nationwide. In November 2017, Absa extended Profica’s contract for a further two year period to support the continuation of the programme.
Profica’s Design & Build capabilities have developed into a strongly coordinated, predominantly in-house, service well-positioned for the retail sector given Profica’s ability to deliver through a streamlined, multidisciplinary and professional approach. Profica’s strong in-programme management coupled with their project management experience provides a highly competitive delivery model.
Matthew Renshaw, Profica COO, says that the Design & Build department has developed into a 15-strong team of experienced professionals, of designers and project managers, enabling in-house expertise that allows for coordinated delivery regardless of complexity.
To date Profica has delivered 77 branches, totalling 51,000 m2, with 14 currently allocated for 2018, which are set to increase.
Absa’s two-year extension consists of a wider programme of delivering branches and other exciting opportunities which Profica eagerly anticipates. Renshaw says, “In 2016, we hit the ground running as new entrants into the Design & Build space. We have been through extensive challenges and learnings which have strengthened our team. We swiftly developed solutions to successfully coordinate multiple stakeholders – including existing local branch sub-contractors – across national locations with different requirements. Our protocols, systems and communication processes are fine-tuned yet flexible to meet specific requirements. We’re strongly positioned to run with the next wave of retail branches.”
