Introducing Lucé van der Linde
It’s time to celebrate new female faces at Profica who have joined a group of skilled women trailblazing across the African continent. Lucé van der Linde joined Profica in July this year as a project manager. Lucé holds a wealth of experience in the construction project management space, specializing in both capital and tenant coordination projects. She has 8 years of retail experience as well as a focus on the healthcare sector.
Lucé, who is a strong believer in team work and communication, shares some of her thoughts about project management and women in the industry.
Tell us a bit more about what YOU bring to the Profica team?
I love the process of a project coming together – from its inception through to execution and completion. I get a great sense of accomplishment when I stand back at the conclusion of a project with my team. I reflect on the hours, the hard work, the struggles and successes during the project. Team work and communication management are key to success.
This Women’s month what is your dream for women in your industry?
As with any male dominated industry, there can be certain challenges for women. In our industry, I would love to see more of us taking a key lead as project managers. Believing in ourselves and having the support of peers inside the boardroom, be it male or female, makes this possible.
How does Profica elevate the work and might of great women within the organisation?
Profica has internal systems in place which enable all team members to asses both our strong points and those areas that may need development. I think this is invaluable in that it provides each of us with a solid, objective view of our progress. In turn, we can use the vast amount of experience that resides in Profica through both peer knowledge and available resources, to develop those highlighted areas. In this environment and with this kind of support, women are able to grasp opportunities, test our limits, and grow our capabilities and talent.
