One on One with Julie Ivason

Today we’ve requested that Julie Ivason step into the limelight. As Executive PA to the CEO and Directors at Profica, Julie prefers getting things done behind the scenes. As an integral member of the team, and glue that holds it all together, we’re adamant that Julie needs her time in the spotlight. Read on!

Tell us a bit more about what YOU bring to the Profica team?

Helping people in any way possible is my passion, and I would rather sacrifice in order to help someone else. This is an ethos that I live by and I strive to bring this with me to Profica. Given the nature of my work, I feel like I’m a part of each and every Profica team, from the project managers through to administrative staff, human resources, financial teams and management. I like to give support where needed – both practically and on a personal level. In every interaction that I have, I like to bring friendliness and warmth.

This Women’s month what is your dream for women in your industry?

As the song goes, sisters are doing it for themselves! My dream for our women is to acknowledge that we’re here, we’ve worked for the opportunities that now present themselves to each of us and we now need to take those opportunities as they arise with no fear.

How does Profica elevate the work and might of great women within the organisation?

I believe that at Profica we are all regarded as Profica team members rather than being treated differently along ‘gender’ lines. At Profica, we are all given equal opportunities to learn, to enhance our skills and to succeed, regardless of who we are. We’re also viewed as people with lives outside of the office – in fact this is respected at Profica. We’ve been known to have ‘family’ events where we get to meet and connect with partners and kids. It is at events such as these that it’s easy to see the lack of gender bias, because our Profica dads roll up their sleeves and get stuck in with the kids just as much as the Profica moms!
