Profica celebrates a decade of success

JOHANNESBURG – 18 SEP: Profica, the industry leading construction and property solutions company, this year marks its ten year anniversary. Since it was founded in 2005, Profica has shown phenomenal growth and managed projects valued at more than R20 billion throughout Africa, providing expert development, project and construction management services to high-profile clients.

Speaking at the anniversary celebration event in Johannesburg on 17 September, Profica co-founder and group Managing Director Tim White said, “Over the past ten years, Profica has remained on a growth path throughout the many changes in the economic climate. I attribute our success to global expertise, local knowledge, reliability and service excellence. We know Africa! The Profica team has a proven track record, evidenced by the fact that 50% of our work is repeat work from existing clients. Referrals from architects, engineers and consultants cement our established reputation for excellence. We’re proud to celebrate a decade of providing world class services to our clients.”

Headquartered in Johannesburg, Profica has evolved to have a strong service capability throughout Africa, with permanent teams across the continent to ensure localised solutions. With offices in Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya, the company is also known for its capacity in French-speaking Africa. The expanding company has appointed managing directors in three key African regions – Matthew Renshaw in South Africa, Thierry Giannone in East Africa and Chris Titmas in West Africa.

“Going forward, we will maintain our entrepreneurial culture and strong, personal client relationships. Our teams are flexible and we encourage real ownership of projects,” says White. “With this approach, we get it done. Our investment in the right people, processes, and technology such as our online project management system, continues to get the best results for our clients.”

Profica was recently rated the top project management company in South Africa by PMR.africa in 2015 for the third time in five years. This accolade further enhances the company’s award-winning track record. The South African operation remains focused on skills development and knowledge transfer. An environmentally and socially aware enterprise, Profica is a specialist in the sustainable and green building environment and the company holds a prestigious ISO 9001 certification.

In recent years, White notes that there has been a shift to major mixed use developments and these make up a substantial portion of current and recent projects, including the Stella Precinct, opposite the Sandton Gautrain Station in Johannesburg, South Africa, The Exchange in Accra, Ghana; and Garden City in Nairobi, Kenya. The green designs of some of these developments will mean that they use considerably less energy than comparative projects.

The Profica celebration was fittingly held overlooking the in progress urban redevelopment, Stella Precinct in Sandton including what will be the Old Mutual Emerging Markets headquarters, called Mutual Place. “This development in the heart of South Africa’s financial and business hub will be a 120 000m² multi-storey mixed use office precinct,” said White. “We’re proud to be the lead project managers on prestigious projects of this nature, and it shows how much skill the company has developed.”

“Every successful company is backed by people who have combined their efforts, diligence, and passion to support its services. I would like to thank our award-winning team, and our loyal clients, for making us the preferred construction and property solutions company in Africa,” said White. “Our clients’ success is, and will continue to be, our success. This milestone is a testament to Profica’s commitment to innovation and to the future of the company, our clients and the industry. We are excited about the future and look forward growing with our clients throughout the African continent, as they place their trust in our best-in-class delivery. It’s a trust we know we’ve earned.”
