Profica delivering complex laboratory for Life Healthcare

Profica’s expertise in the healthcare sector is again coming to the fore for repeat client, Life Healthcare, as the project manager and principal agent for the construction of the new Catheterization Laboratory at the Life Anncron Hospital in Klerksdorp, due to be completed at the end of June. The project involves a new CCU, Cath Lab and major theatre, as well as reconfiguration of the pre-op, radiology and CSSD areas. Philips is a key partner on medical equipment.

According to Profica senior project manager, Willie Knoetze, a key objective has been to achieve a cost saving on the overall original budget, without compromising on quality or disrupting operations. “The hospital must remain operational in various areas while construction is underway. Expert project management is essential to deliver a phased project within a live environment, with agreed milestone dates. We are providing strong facilitation with multiple consultants given the complexity of the project,” says Knoetze.

Located in Klerksdorp, the large Life Anncron Hospital has modern and sophisticated facilities aimed at providing high-quality treatment and unique standards of care. This 150-bed facility is equipped to provide extensive medical treatment to patients whether they are admitted for routine, more serious, or extensive procedures. “We’re pleased to be part of providing a world-class environment for the team of specialists, dedicated nursing staff and allied health professionals to be able to deliver excellent healthcare, and excited to partner with Life Healthcare on another challenging but rewarding project,” says Knoetze.
