Profica delivering for Zimmer Biomet at Waterfall City
Profica has been appointed by first-time client, leading global medical device manufacturer Zimmer Biomet, to provide tenant representation and office fitout for the company’s new warehouse and office building currently under development at the Waterfall Distribution Campus in Midrand.
As representing Zimmer Biomet throughout the build from ground breaking through to tenant installation, Profica is required to monitor and review the construction programme and ensure consistent information flow between both Zimmer Biomet (as the tenant) and the landlord. Profica’s Senior Project Manager, Willie Knoetze, says that Profica will also be providing move management and interior design facilitation. Additionally, says Knoetze, Profica is responsible for making sure that the specific requirements of multiple stakeholders within the Zimmer Biomet organisation, some of whom are based in the US and Europe, are incorporated into the design plans. In projects such as this, an ability to provide strong facilitation and communication is paramount.
Profica will also be undertaking sequency of occupancy. Knoetze explains, “This requires intricate programming to ensure that the tenant’s fitout, which includes the installation and delivery of furniture, falls within the landlord’s construction programme. Our team is also using our in-house expertise to assist the tenant with contractual agreements so as to ensure landlord obligations are met within the correct timeframes.”

The project commenced in September this year, with lease commencement scheduled for early June in 2019.
