York Commercial Park launches in Lusaka

Profica is the Project Manager for the newly launched York Commercial Park development in Lusaka, Zambia.

Strategically located six kilometers south of Lusaka’s Central Business District, on Kafue Road, this ultra-modern logistics, warehousing and distribution park brings a unique ‘built-for-you’ concept to Lusaka in response to the demand for modern, flexible warehouse space with good access, circulation and loading facilities.

“Profica is proud to be involved in this major development in a pivotal distribution hub at the centre of the Sub-Saharan African logistics routes,” says Profica Group Managing Director Tim White. “We have managed this development from inception, overseeing and managing the pre-development and land enablement as well as the construction of the services and infrastructure to turn agricultural land into a high tech logistics park.”

York Commercial Park, initiated by private equity investor Actis is now being developed by Improvon and Actis in two phases over five years. The park’s first 5,000 square meter building is now complete. The park will be fully serviced with all infrastructure, including roads, paved areas, electricity, water, and the highest standard of security with monitored and controlled 24-hour access.

York Commercial Park is targeting both local and multinational companies with a unique business model of selling or leasing warehousing and light industrial units designed and constructed to clients’ own specifications. In addition, the park will offer space for every size of business by introducing them in-unit format which will allow smaller companies to lock into modern and bespoke storage and warehousing facilities while larger businesses can consolidate multiple mini-units.
