The Profica team is like family to HR Officer Johanita Strydom. This people’s person is both creative and structured, and loves helping others solve problems. What is your favourite part of working at Profica?
I would say the people of Profica, every day I am greeted with a smile and coming to work feels like home. Profica feels like a family to me and I enjoy working with the Profica team.
How did you start your career in the property industry?
I started in the Property industry when I started at Profica and although it is a challenging industry, I have loved it from the start and I am still learning. I made the change to the property industry, because I felt that it was more in line with my personality, which is very structured and organised.
What do you believe your greatest strengths are?
I am very approachable and I enjoy helping people solve problems.
What has been the biggest success of your career so far?
My current position at Profica, as this has been the position that has challenged me the most and allowed me to develop into the person I am today. I am thankful for that.
What really inspires you?
Seeing good being done in the world inspires me to also do good. It makes me feel that = the world is not the bad place we are sometimes led to believe it is.
What do you believe you’re good at, outside of work?
I am good at creating things, whether it is gardening, artwork or baking.
What are the greatest challenges you’re dealing with right now?
I think the pandemic has opened up our minds to how we need to think differently about the future and the way we do things. I think the greatest challenge I am dealing with right now, is to change my thought processes to be more innovative and out of the box, rather than doing things the same way we did them before COVID.
How would you like to see the industry change in the next ten years?
I would like to see the industry embrace women even more, as our industry is still very male-dominated. I would also want to see more Smart Technology being used within the industry.
