Profica wins multiple ACPM awards, including two Excellence Awards for Project Management

Profica has been recognised with a number of Association of Construction Project Managers (ACPM) awards at the ACPM awards ceremony which took place on 24 November 2022.

Profica teams won two ACPM Excellence awards for project management, receiving awards in both the International Private Sector category for Gerrard Place in Lagos, Nigeria, and the National Private Sector category for the Netcare Alberton Hospital.

Profica was first awarded an ACPM Excellence Award in 2008 for Jackal Creek Golf Estate, and the second in 2018 for the Stella Precinct, now No.1 Mutual Place.  

Profica lead Project Manager Damilola Ilensami and team Profica Nigeria project managed the award-winning build of Gerrard Road as the new head office for Meristem Securities. This landmark 9-floor commercial office building that now stands proudly among the high grade commercial developments and luxury residential buildings of Gerrard Road in the prime area of Ikoyi, Lagos.

Profica’s specialist healthcare team delivered the Netcare Alberton Hospital Project, a large purpose-designed 427-bed hospital featuring numerous technologically advanced and environmentally sustainable features, from inception through to practical completion in February 2022. Delivered with true excellence and efficiency, this flagship project involving multidisciplinary teams has become an industry model for sustainable healthcare. 

Beyond the coveted Excellence Awards, the 2022 Awards saw the SACPCMP collaborate with the ACPM to recognise the Professional Construction Project Managers that were responsible for the award-winning projects. Profica director and lead project manager Jaco Nel received a well-deserved individual award for as the Professional Construction Project Manager of the Netcare Alberton Hospital project.

All project submissions need to provide details of the business case, scope and complexity of projects, as well as highlighting the innovation, unique characteristics, technical aspects, financial viability and cost effectiveness. This year, the awards’ judging criteria was expanded to consider aspects such as the impact on the environment, social investment, innovation and sustainability while benchmarking submissions against globally accepted project management standards.
